"The Lock" (同心锁) is the sixth episode of Stitch & Ai. It first aired in Mandarin on March 30, 2017, and in English on February 13, 2018.
Plot[]
Ai takes Stitch to a bridge where several locks are. Friends write their names on the locks and lock them on the bridge as a symbol of their unbreakable friendship. Unfortunately, Stitch does not agree with where to place the lock, resulting in them fighting over it and dropping the lock below the bridge.
Trivia[]
- This is one of only three episodes of Stitch & Ai that uses hand-drawn digital ink and paint throughout rather than computer animation, the other two being "The Phoenix" and "Nuo Opera".
- This is the only hand-drawn digital ink and paint episode in which the Jaboodies and the Woolagongs appear, and the only one of the three such episodes in which Ai's cousin Bao does not appear, since he's introduced later on in the show.
- The explanation in the cold open that qi energy protected Stitch during his re-entry into Earth's atmosphere severely contradicts Stitch's famous durability, as he is fireproof (and thus should be able to withstand the intense heat from entry into the atmosphere) and highly resilient to impacts (notably in the original film, Stitch bounces off a couple distant mountains in quick succession before coming to a grinding halt on a road without any signs of injury).
