Tūtū (Hawaiian for "grandmother") is a character who appears in the 2025 live-action Lilo & Stitch film.
Biography[]
Based on publicly released information from casting calls, she is a Native Hawaiian woman in her seventies who is neighbors with Lilo and Nani Pelekai, and has known their family for years.[1] She is also said to be the grandmother of David Kawena.[1]
Personality[]
Based on the aforementioned casting calls, she is described as "a warm, quick-witted woman who speaks with a local Pidgin accent". She is "kind and hospitable, and understanding of Lilo and Nani's struggles."[1]
Trivia[]
- Tūtū is an original character introduced in the 2025 live-action film who did not appear in the 2002 animated film or any of its sequels and spin-offs.
- Amy Hill, who portrays the character, previously voiced Mrs. Hasagawa in the original film and Lilo & Stitch: The Series.
- Tūtū is the first direct relative of David Kawena to appear in any Lilo & Stitch work.
