"New Town" (スティッチ、ニュータウンへ行く!, "Sutitchi, Nyū Taun e ni Yuku!", Stitch Goes to New Town!) is the first episode of Stitch! ~Best Friends Forever~. It first aired in Japan on July 6, 2010, and in English on January 12, 2013.

Plot[]

Stitch and Yuna move to Okinawa New Town because Gramma can no longer support Yuna, as she is growing old, and Stitch must find and purify any remaining altered experiments. While they are there, they meet Jessica, her friends Toriko and Makiko, and Hiroman. Later, Stitch wants to return Yuna's handkerchief but ends up almost destroying the school, which upsets Yuna. Hämsterviel puts in two coins in a large gum ball dispenser and gets two large experiment pods out, and then runs in front of a screen that reveals Delia, who is Hämsterviel's new partner. Delia calls Hämsterviel "Hamu Sama", which causes Hämsterviel to say that his name is "Hämsterviel", not "Hamu Sama", which causes Delia to get annoyed and screams, "They're all the same to me!" Stitch later begins to leave and gets attacked by Plasmoid and Splodyhead, and again destroys the school, which then makes Yuna think Stitch has broken his promise and lied to her. Stitch stays away from Yuna to try to catch the two altered experiments, but gets captured by Gantu. Yuna feels guilty for not believing Stitch and goes to find him at school, but then gets attacked by Plasmoid and Splodyhead. Stitch then saves Yuna and she apologizes to him for not believing him. After hearing about Hämsterviel's failure, Delia tortures him with a bomb.

Trivia[]

Stitch! - New Town (Japanese version) - Mr

The blackboard in the Japanese original shows Yuna's full name and the date when the class takes place.

  • Stitch's title card line: "Ooo-ahh!"
  • This is the only anime episode to start with a cold open, as the episode starts with nearly ninety seconds of Yuna and Stitch exploring New Town until the title card appears.
    • For the Japanese original, this is the only episode of Stitch! ~Best Friends Forever~ to use a color other than purple for the title card's background, being colored orange instead. Additionally, at the very beginning of the episode, before the title sequence appears, the same background shows up but colored pink, and Yuna and Stitch ride into frame before running up to the viewer.
  • In the Japanese original version of this episode, when Mr. Matsuda introduces Yuna to his class, the blackboard has kanji written on it revealing Yuna's full name (上原ユウナ, Kamihara Yūna or "Yuna Kamihara" in Western order) and the date when the class is being held (七月六日, July 6th). However, in the international edit, which includes the English dub, the kanji is removed, leaving the blackboard completely blank.
    • The Japanese version of the episode marks the only time Yuna's full name is shown on-screen; her full name is never spoken by anyone in the show at any point.
