Lilo & Stitch Wiki

"Kung Fu Dragon Pleak Lee" (カンフードラゴンプリークリー, Kanfū Doragon Purīkurī) is a recurring segment featured in most episodes of Stitch! ~The Mischievous Alien's Great Adventure~, the second season of the anime. Beginning from the season's second episode, "A Stinky Episode", and running through to the nineteenth, "Stitch Obtains the Greatest Power in the Universe!?" (a.k.a. "Stitch Power") two of these segments are broadcast after the end of the episode proper, except for the aforementioned latter episode, which has only one segment broadcast afterward. These segments were primarily exclusive to the Japanese original version of the series and were not known to be dubbed to English, although at least eight segments were dubbed into German (as "Kung Fu Nudel Pliik Lee"; literally "Kung Fu Noodle Pleak Lee") and presumably shown during Disney Channel Deutschland's promotional breaks.

The segments feature Pleakley (or "Pleak Lee", a play on the name of Bruce Lee) facing off against various alien opponents, mostly experiments, in one-on-one martial arts-style matches at a dojo, with Jumba serving as judge, banging a gong to start and end matches. Prior to these matches, the opponents are only seen in silhouette behind the sliding screen door; when the door busts open to reveal them, they typically leap in with an action pose and a brief splash screen appears to show who they are. These humorous matches usually end with Pleakley losing in humiliating fashion and an iris out on a character, usually the opponent.

The segments were dropped entirely after Tigerlily Sakai's introduction in the twentieth episode "Tigerlily" and have been excluded from the streaming version of the series on Disney+.

List of segments[]

Seg. no. Attached episode Original air date Pleakley's opponent(s) Other characters Summaries
1 "A Stinky Episode" October 20, 2009 Mr. Stenchy (254) Stitch Pleakley and Stitch do various poses to psych themselves up before the match, but when the opponent is revealed to be Mr. Stenchy, Jumba and Stitch panic while Pleakley is immediately charmed by Mr. Stenchy's cuteness. Stitch tries to trap Mr. Stenchy in a spherical container, but the latter unleashes his stench, causing Stitch to drop the container and fall backward in disgust. Jumba tries to do the same, but he too is overwhelmed by the stench. Pleakley, on the other hand, loves Mr. Stenchy's smell and happily proceeds to pick up and continuously kiss the experiment on the cheek as the surrounding area begins to rot from the fumes. Since Pleakley and Mr. Stenchy don't bother to fight each other, the match ends in no contest.

This is the first segment where the title sequence is interrupted (by Jumba) and the only one where it's interrupted entirely.
2 Stitch (626) Stitch bursts in ready for his fight. As the match begins and Pleakley poses, Stitch swiftly kicks Pleakley in the face, causing the latter to hide behind Jumba's gong. For the second round, Pleakley is now wearing bōgu and holding a shinai, ready to fight kendo-style. But as he draws his shinai, Stitch leaps on it, causing Pleakley to try to shake him off to no avail and a loss of some armor. Stitch leaps off and stops Pleakley's attempted thrust with just one finger, flicking him off the shinai easily and taking it from him. For the third and final round, Pleakley, now back in his regular fighting uniform, doing the same pose as he did the first round, but Stitch again swiftly kicks him in the face, causing Pleakley to again hide behind the gong scared, surrendering the match to Stitch to avoid any further harm from the super-strong experiment.
3 "Dracula, Jr." October 27, 2009 BooGoo Stitch Pleakley and Stitch are ready to fight their opponent when BooGoo arrives. BooGoo floats over to Pleakley first, where the latter cuddles the former and gives her a kiss. Pleakley asks BooGoo if she's training with them, which she nods to affirm. They and Stitch do some air punches, then BooGoo's right tendril grows and she throws a right hook at Stitch, causing him to knock over into Pleakley. Pleakley angrily blames Stitch, who tries to correctly say BooGoo's at fault, but she feigns innocence. She then mocks Stitch behind Pleakley's back, causing Stitch to pull out a wooden mallet to hit her with. However, she tricks him into hammering Pleakley's head, causing Pleakley to develop a bump on his head and angrily yell at Stitch for it. As Pleakley yells, BooGoo then quickly places lit dynamite under Stitch. Jumba notices this and tries to run off with his gong, but the dynamite explodes, leaving Stitch and Pleakley shocked and ash-covered, to BooGoo's satisfaction and apparent victory for the match.

This is the first segment in which Jumba does not strike his gong to end the match.
4 Jumba Jookiba Jumba approaches Pleakley as his opponent, and the latter is confident that he will win. Jumba then presses a button on a small red device he's wearing on his hip, which transforms into a red, rocket-powered, quad-wheeled vehicle that automatically places his legs into a high kicking position. Pleakley runs away scared as Jumba chases him on the vehicle, then jumps on top of Jumba, inadvertently blinding Jumba with his (Pleakley's) jacket. As they are about in smash into the dojo's wall, Pleakley pulls on Jumba's arm, causing the vehicle to climb up the wall, then ride on the ceiling. The vehicle then loses power, stops, and crashes to the floor, landing on its wheels. Pleakley is now sitting on top of Jumba, who is worn from the fall. Pleakley yells at Jumba and pulls a lever from the vehicle, causing it to bring out a mallet and strike Jumba's gong with it, and Pleakley declares himself the victor.

This is the first segment in which Pleakley strikes Jumba's gong, albeit using a separate device holding the mallet.
5 "Sasha" November 10, 2009 Mrs. Pleakley After Pleakley makes his opening pose, he gets a phone call from his mother on a green cell phone. He happily answers the phone, but is shocked to hear that she's already on Earth, arriving at the dojo from her yellow spaceship, holding her purple cell phone and wearing a purple and pink bathrobe. She approaches him and again demands him to choose which one of two aliens he will be forced to marry to (the same choices from "A Stinky Episode"), but Pleakley nervously says he still doesn't want either. Angered by his indecision, Mrs. Pleakley then gets dramatically fired up, and Pleakley responds in kind. As the two dramatically clash, Mrs. Pleakley strikes her son several times, which ultimately causes him to be face down on the floor in defeat. After Jumba rings his gong, Mrs. Pleakley demands her son something. Pleakley raises his head to try to talk back, but she screams in his face, blowing him back by the sheer wind from her anger.
6 Dupe (344) Wendy Pleakley clone Pleakley is shocked to find himself, wearing his typical orange muumuu, walk in for the match. Jumba explains that he had Dupe, technically the real opponent who runs in shortly thereafter, cloned Pleakley as the Plorgonarian was sleeping the previous night. Both Pleakleys get angry at Jumba for his unwarranted cloning and they both try to elbow chop him, though they are both weakened as a result of Dupe's powers and don't do any harm to Jumba. Both Pleakley then realize that because of the cloning, they have a kindred spirit with each other and are pleased about this. Jumba then strikes his gong, ending the match in no contest, and the segment ends with an iris out on the Pleakley clone instead of Dupe.
7 "Stitch vs. Captain Khan" November 17, 2009 Checkers (029) Stitch The segment begins from a hard cut from the title sequence to Pleakley having Stitch break a stack of stone tiles, which the latter does with a headbutt. Then after Pleakley pulls in a larger stack of tiles and a hard cut to the close-up of his eye to finish the rest of the title sequence and face his opponent, Checkers bursts in and jumps on Pleakley's head. Jumba then kneels down to Pleakley as Checkers' powers come into effect, with Stitch repeating Jumba's kneel, and asks the "Kung Fu Master" to demonstrate his skills. Pleakley tries to chop the large tile stack, but only hurts his right hand. Stitch laughs at Pleakley's injury, but Jumba tells Stitch to stop laughing, to which the experiment complies, and then suggests another idea. Another hard cut then shows Jumba, with Stitch's "assistance", holding Pleakley like a battering ram to the Plorgonarian's fear. Jumba and Stitch charge at the tile stack with Pleakley, and Checkers decides to jump off Pleakley's head at the last second as Pleakley collides with the stack, still failing to break it and getting his head caught and stuck between the gaps. Pleakley slumps from his stuck position on the stack in pain as Stitch strikes the gong to end the match, with the iris out on Checkers indicating the experiment won the match.
8 Jacques von Hämsterviel United Galactic Federation officers Hämsterviel is introduced having been impatiently waiting for his match while standing on a stack of stone tiles. To start the match, Hämsterviel throws a purple octopus at Pleakley's head, causing the latter's face to be caught in its tentacles much to the "hamster-like" alien's amusement. Suddenly, a couple of intergalactic police officers crash through the dojo's walls in their police cruiser ship to arrest Hämsterviel, and the latter flees as a whole fleet of cruisers pursue him. Pleakley manages to get the octopus off his face as the fleet passes by. As Pleakley rants, the octopus squirts ink in his face, causing him to fall over. The scene then irises out to the octopus, who can inexplicably float, as Jumba strikes the gong.

Despite Pleakley falling over, he technically won the match by default due to Hämsterviel's fleeing from the match.
9 "Princess Penny" November 24, 2009 Kixx (601) Stitch As Kixx enters the dojo, Jumba declares it to be a kickboxing match. Pleakley then puts on boxing gloves and protective headgear, but the stronger Kixx punches him back out of the boxing gear. Stitch jumps on Pleakley's head and tries to get him to focus, but then Kixx grabs Pleakley's right front leg, swinging him and Stitch up, down and around before throwing them to the wall. Pleakley slams into a wall pillar, making him dizzy with a red marking on his face, while Stitch lands on the wall and sticks to it. Stitch then jumps on the dizzy Pleakley's head, grabs onto his quart flanch (antenna) like a joystick, and begins controlling the Plogonarian like a robot. The Stitch-controlled Pleakley dodges more of Kixx's punches, then jumps on the purple experiment's head and tricks him into hitting himself as the Plorgonarian jumps off, causing Kixx to knock himself out. Jumba strikes the gong, and Pleakley comes back to his senses as Stitch jumps off of him. Pleakley looks down at Kixx and then asks Jumba if he really defeated the experiment, to which Jumba confirms to give Pleakley the benefit of the doubt. As the scene nearly irises out on Pleakley as he becomes pleased with himself, it irises back in a bit as he looks at the viewer and wonders how he even managed to win, then the segment irises out completely.

Unlike in his other appearances in these segments, Stitch wears a fighting outfit for this match.
10 Slushy (523) Stitch Slushy has made the dojo and the surrounding area cold for the match as he skates in on the ice generated from his ice breath. As Pleakley tells Slushy to bring it on, the latter immediately freezes the former with his ice breath. Pleakley tries to attack Slushy, but he is frozen again twice, and even has ice balls fired into his mouth (which he proceeds to swallow) as Slushy smugly floats backwards. Pleakley then uses Stitch—who is wearing orange ice skates—to protect him from more ice balls by having the fluffy blue experiment catch them with his mouth, which Stitch then grinds to make fresh kakigōri for him and Pleakley to enjoy. Slushy then generates a large ice block and kicks it towards Stitch and Pleakley as they eat the kakigōri, launching them in air upon collision, and the block breaks apart and regenerates as an igloo that surrounds Pleakley when he lands on the floor. After a transition where Stitch pushes out the previous scene as he skates, Slushy then blows snow on a running scared Pleakley, trapping him in a giant snowball that Jumba also gets caught in, and the snowball collides with the wall as Stitch skates past it (even doing a triple Axel jump before the snowball's collision). Jumba and Pleakley pop their heads out of the snowball, and Slushy and Stitch skate in front of them, with the former experiment bringing in the gong. Stitch strikes the gong with the mallet as he declares Slushy the winner.

This is the only segment where Jumba's gong is silver in a blue stand rather than gold in a red stand. Likewise, the environment inside the dojo is blue-tinted to reflect Slushy's powers.
